A day in Port Stanley

This day was part of a cruise which took us down the west coast of the Americas, both north and south, around Cape Horn and to the Falkland Islands, that bastion of Britishness in the Southern Ocean. We were lucky to be able to go ashore - it seems it is not always possible because of the winds. After and good walk around Port Stanley the tender journey back to the ship was increasingly rough. The Zaandam had to manoeuvre in the bay to give sufficient shelter and thus enable the tenders to come alongside to allow the passengers to scramble aboard.
