Nepal 2000 - From Pokhara to Kagbeni and on up to Muktinath

This is a pictorial story of a trip to Nepal in 2002. An early morning walk to the Syambunath, known as the monkey temple, shows it coming to life in the early morning light. Traders setting up their stalls for the expected tourists; bells rung and prayer wheels spun by early morning devotees and Kathmadu spread beneath in the morning light.

It is interesting making a solo trek at a time when the Moaist insurgents are active in Nepal. It is also in Winter when there are few trekkers on the trails and many lodges are empty.

From Kagbeni up to Jharkot and Muktinath there was snow and ice and although it was really beautiful I only stay a couple of nights because of the cold.
